_______________________________________________________________________ Joel Doiron 2011 Season in Review; Slow Starting Season Highlighted by Feature Win at Cornwall Speedway in July By Craig Revelle - Finish Line Web Design - October 22, 2011 When
the 2011 racing season began, optimism was high for Joel Doiron and his
Alexandria, Ontario 358 Modified team.
They had a brand new car and a fresh new look going into the
season, and they were anxious to get on track and get the new season
underway. By
July, Doiron was running much better, and the results were beginning to
show, as he posted a third place finish at Cornwall on July 10th,
and backed that up the following race at Cornwall with his first and
only win of the year. Doiron
was beginning to climb the standings over the next few weeks, and by the
middle of August he was up to third place.
With three races remaining, Doiron was in a great position to
chase down the point leader and win a second Cornwall Speedway
championship, but with three consecutive rainouts to end the year,
Doiron had to settle for third in points.
